About The On Line Radio Trader

The On Line Radio Trader (OLRT) has been formed to provide computer-searchable antique radio ads for collectors. If you enjoy collecting antique radios as much as we do, but your schedule doesn't allow time for reading hundreds of printed ads every month, then this site is for you.

How It Works

Our goal is to provide a computer-searchable list of antique radio ads to collectors.

A Word from the Editor

After eleven years and over 10,000 ads, we have decided to call it quits here at The On Line Radio Trader (OLRT). The time commitment has grown to something more than we can handle here on a "hobby" basis.

The On Line Radio Trader was formed in May 1996 to provide computer-searchable antique radio ads for collectors. The internet was kind of in its infancy back then, and there weren't many options for computer-searchable antique radio ads. Of course the internet has grown a lot since, and there are now many such repositories of on-line radio ads.

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank all those who submitted ads over the past eleven years for their help and support. We won't be accepting any new ads, but we will accept ad cancellations. We'll leave all the current ads up a while longer before finally closing the pages.

We'd also like to thank our long time sponsor. Please visit Solar and Electric Supply.

Thanks again for making OLRT so successful, and good luck in your radio collecting!

How to search the ads in OLRT

Remember that the goal here is to provide a computer-searchable list of antique radio ads to collectors. There are two ways collectors can search the ads:

Use your browser...
Most Web browsers include a SEARCH feature. For example, Netscape users can click the FIND button, then enter the text string they're looking for, such as a radio model number.
Use your word processor...
Most Web browsers allow you to save the Web Page you're viewing as a plain text file. For example, Netscape users can access one of our ad pages, then pull down the FILE menu and click SAVE AS... to save the currently displayed ads to disk (be sure to specify PLAIN TEXT when you save). You can then use your favorite word processor to search the ads for items of interest.

Consult your Web browser's manual if you're not sure how to search or save.

Remember to be creative when searching the ads, since other collectors may post ads with model numbers formatted somewhat differently. For example, when looking for Atwater Kent, try searching for "AK" as well as "Atwater Kent". Also, try searching for model numbers with and without spaces or dashes.
